Terroir Symposium announces a Plant-based Lunch Plan
- noodles for breakfast, hot-dogs for snacks and a whole lotta deserts -
Terroir, Canada’s leading foodservice and hospitality symposium brings together the elite of Canada’s restaurant industry, including influential chefs, food writers, wine and food experts, journalists and business leaders. On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, Terroir is thrilled to announce a veg-centric lunch theme.
Terroir, is taking place on April 25th, at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and will shine a lunch-time light on vegetables and plants. Arlene Stein, Terroir executive director and founder commented, “Each year we have requests for vegetarian offerings. We thought with a global focus on plant-based diets – why don’t we challenge ourselves by creating an entirely plant based lunch?”
The feast has been curated collaboratively by Ivy Knight, founder of food website Swallow Daily, and Jasmine Baker, of catering company For the Love of Food, and features several special guest chefs .
We are joined this year by Canadian chef Amanda Cohen of the NYC restaurant Dirt Candy in our plant-based and inspired food program along with internationally renowned chefs including: Hans Vogels, Momofuku Noodle Bar (Toronto) • Aidan Galligan, Uncle Smoke Barbecue • Michael Hunter, Antler • Anna Chen, Figo • Johnathan “Johnny” Poon, Bar Fancy • Alexandra Feswick, The Drake Hotel • Trevor Lui, Kanpai Snack Bar • Adrian Niman, The Food Dudes • Mark Kupfert, Kupfert & Kim • Stephanie Duong, Roselle Desserts • Chris Kwok, Cluny Bistro • Ashley Jacot De Boinod, Glory Hole Doughnuts • Jason Bangerter, Langdon Hall.
and that’s not all…
Delicious snacks will be provided, courtesy of Carol Belmonte of Belmonte Raw (Toronto) and Yann Turcotte of Chez Tousignant (Montreal), throughout the day. "While we can't wait to try what omnivore chefs do with a plant- based menu, we have to confess that having ramen for breakfast is our absolute ideal, so having Hans Vogels and the Momofuku team take that on is going to be great. Also, we’re hotly anticipating hot dogs by chef Michele Forgione from Chez Tousignant in Montreal during Snack Break." - Ivy Knight & Jasmine Baker, curators of the Terroir 10 food program
Hosted by the formidable executive chef, Renee Bellefeuille, of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the program will feature a dynamic offering of breakfast, lunch and dessert courses.
