Go Local at the #RestoShow16 with our Ontario Pavilion!

Visit the Ontario Pavilion at the Restaurants Canada Show to grow your food business and support local. There will be many exhibitors who will be showcasing the best this province has to offer you. They will be offering knowledgeable advice to help you make better business decisions, as well as connections to help you maximize your opportunities for growth and development. Get all the resources you need to keep you current in a competitive environment.

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food (OMAFRA) is one of the key organizations that provides a supportive network for all the exhibitors at the Ontario Pavilion. They are facilitating, leading, and growing the ministry’s economic development activities in the food industry. These activities include investment attraction, developing programs and business resources.

The following exhibitors are just a preview of what the show will be offering this Sunday February 28th to Tuesday March 1st.

Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) and the Humber Food Truck

Humber College and the School of Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism have invested in a food truck for students to learn about entrepreneurship and how to successfully operate one. As a mobile classroom, the culinary program works with top quality chefs and uses state-of-the-art facilities.

What to expect:

Fresh, fast and healthy dishes that will be offered to attendees from the food truck that uses vibrant produce from OGVG. Students will be participating in a live competition featuring "healthy and easy to cook recipes". These include vegetable and turkey recipes prepared in a "street food style" manner. Indulge without the grease and walk away feeling satisfied.

GreenBelt/ Ontario Fresh

The only service of its kind in Canada, Ontariofresh.ca is an online network and marketing service designed to help Ontario businesses buy and sell more local food. Often described as “Facebook for Food”, Ontariofresh.ca is much more than a static listing of businesses. Dynamic and interactive, it empowers restaurants and foodservice businesses to find providers of local Ontario food that meet their exact needs. Ontario Fresh is operated by the Greenbelt Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing markets for Ontario food and beverage.

What to Expect:

They will be previewing the Ontariofresh.ca website and talking about opportunities to access grants and help businesses increase the amount of local foods on their menus. Learn about the thousands of products and hundreds of suppliers offering quality local ingredients businesses can use all year round!

Since 2002, the Janosevic family has been making wholesale quality baked goods and desserts for Canadian and American supermarkets, delis, grocers, restaurants, hotels, and catering halls. Gourmet pastries are made with the finest, quality ingredients.

What to Expect:

Get a taste of their delectable new selection of high quality treats, real cream, French mousse sheet cakes and a few extra surprises. Make sure to visit them at the Show and find out how to get their bakery and pastry selections in your restaurant, eatery, cafe, etc. They encourage you to try their products; the quality and care will speak for itself.

Flow Water

Flow is a socially responsible Ontario spring water brand committed to providing the highest quality water while maintaining holistically mindful business practices including sustainability, healthful qualities and social good. What to Expect:

Taste Flow Water H2O 2.0 at their water bar located in the Eco Pavilion. Attendees can do their eco-friendly part by keeping their Flow Tetra Pak throughout the show, as they will be offering complimentary refills. They will have great show specials including contesting out 50 cases of Flow 1 litres delivered directly to 50 homes or businesses by their electric trucks in the Greater Toronto Area.

Stay eco-friendly! There will be one water bar in the Eco Pavilion for samples and refills and another in the Ontario Pavilion for samples! Stop by for a taste!

This is just a small sampling of all the amazing exhibitors we have at our #RestoShow16, from February 28th to March 1st, 2016! The #OntarioPavilion is just one of the many features we have at the Show.

Don't forget! We'll also be hosting an IRON CHEF competition at the Restaurants Show, Monday Feb 29th from 12:30 -1:30pm.

One team member from the three Iron Chef finalists will show how to cook a healthy delicious meal in minutes!
Chef judges will be Chef John Placko, Chef Matt Basile of Fidel Gastro's, Chef Joan Mondaredi of Park Hyatt Toronto & Annona, Chef Martin Kouprie of Pangaea Restaurant (Toronto).
