After a beautiful summer of great food and exciting adventures through Canada, we're settling into Fall and are busier than ever. This past weekend in Toronto was the second annual Toronto Food and Wine Festival. This was the first time that a food event of this size took over the entire Evergreen Brickworks - and it did so beautifully! A nice change from the typical hall-setting, we throughly enjoyed walking through the Brickworks and sampling some unique flavours on such a beautiful day.
We were lucky to be invited to the Media Tour and along with around 50 other Toronto organizations and Chef Roger Mooking and fellow Torontonian, Gail Simmons, our team was taken along on a special sneak peek preview. The main part of the festival could be found in the Great Hall, where vendors and chefs met to share and showcase their samples and delicious products. From wine to desserts and even to Indian spices, the products varied, while we saw many of our favourite restaurants from across our nation represent themselves with delightfully innovative culinary creations. We ran into some of our favourite Canadian chefs, including Mark McEwan and Chef Antonio Park - both who put on special ticketed sessions for the festival.
Below are some of the photos we took on our tour - this event is sure to be a mainstay in the future and if you get a chance to attend next year, make sure to attend!
